Clinical Professor Leanne Rowe

Clinical Professor Leanne Rowe AM is a general practitioner who has cared for doctors as patients for many years. She is a past Chairman of the RACGP, Deputy Chancellor of Monash University and board member of beyondblue: the national depression initiative. Her Doctor of Medicine Degree was on the topic of cognitive behavioural therapy and she has published a number of books on preventive health, adolescent health and doctors’ health. Among her many awards are the Rose Hunt Medal from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, the ‘Best Individual Contribution to Health Care in Australia’ from the Australian Medical Association, and a Doctor of Laws (Honoris Causa) from Monash University for her service to the university including medicine.
